Arizona Cardinals and former Georgia receiver AJ Green had his house burglarized Friday night, according to a report from TMZ. Neither Green nor his family was at home when the invasion occurred, and it remains unclear exactly what was stolen.

The suspect tripped a house alarm, which notified local police to respond around 8 p.m. Investigators plan to review surveillance cameras in hopes they can identify the perpetrator.

AJ Green lives in a 5,100-square-foot house in Roswell, Georgia, just 90 minutes from the University of Georgia campus. The 6-foot-4 receiver starred for the Bulldogs from 2008-10, ending his career with 166 catches for 2,619 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Following his career at Georgia, Green was the No. 4 pick to the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft. He went on the play nine seasons in Cincinnati, earning seven Pro Bowl appearances in that time. He left as the second-leading receiver in franchise history behind only Chad Johnson with 9,430 yards and 65 touchdowns.

Green joined the Cardinals in 2021 through free agency. He had a solid first year in Arizona, finishing with 54 catches for 848 yards and three touchdowns. However, he took more of a backseat this past season, totaling 24 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games.

Police are planning to take inventory of Green’s home to determine exactly what was taken. TMZ reportedly reached out to the receiver for comment, but he did not respond.
