Alabama guard JD Davison recently had NBA workout with Memphis Grizzlies

Former Alabama Crimson Tide guard JD Davison is preparing for the 2022 NBA Draft, and he appears to be making his rounds across the league.

According to John Martin from the Daily Memphian, Davison recently had a workout ahead of the NBA Draft with the Memphis Grizzlies.

“Alabama PG JD Davison had a workout for the Grizzlies yesterday,” Martin tweeted.

Davison came to Alabama as a highly touted recruit, as he was a five-star point guard, a national top 11 player, and the top-rated player at his position, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

As a true freshman last season, Davison played in 33 games with six starts, averaging 25.8 minutes per game. He posted a line of 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and one steal per game. In his freshman campaign, Davison shot 46.3% from the field and 30.1% from three-point range.

Where Davison could fall in the 2022 NBA Draft

ESPN draft expert Jonathan Givony recently released his updated 2022 NBA mock draft following the draft lottery, and Davison was included. He is viewed as a fringe late first round pick, but more likely will go in the second. In Givony’s mock, Davison was selected with the No. 48 overall pick in the second round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

After just one year in college, Davison is ready to begin his professional career. He will not return to Alabama next season, as he is expected to remain in the draft.
