Allen Robinson gives unusual hint at potential free agency destination
Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson II is expected to be one of the most coveted wide receivers in the NFL in the upcoming free agency market. There’s a good reason behind that. The former Penn State star has hauled in over 6,400 receiving yards and 40 touchdown catches since he entered the NFL in 2014.
His numbers weren’t the greatest during the 2021-2022 season but he dealt with a hamstring injury for much of the year. Robinson pulled in 38 catches for 410 receiving yards and one touchdown in the 12 games that he started this year.
Robinson has long been one of the most underrated receivers in the league and on Sunday afternoon, he gave a hint at his potential destination in free agency when he liked a tweet by NFL Talk.
Robinson liked the tweet by NFL Talk, which reads, “The Packers are expected to show interest in signing WR Allen Robinson, though GB believes Robinson is going to have a strong market to where they won’t be able to offer what most teams can, per source.” Sometimes people can read too much into a player liking a certain tweet here and there. Could this mean he’s seriously interested in playing for the Green Bay Packers? Allen Robinson and Davante Adams paired with Aaron Rodgers would make for one of the most devastating passing attacks in league history, if it actually came true.

The tweet could also mean something else for Robinson
Keep in mind the tweet also mentions that the Packers believe they won’t be able to afford him. That’s another part of him. So maybe he’s excited that there will be a strong market for his services. Either way, the idea of him going to the Green Bay Packers is exciting for Packers fans. The one big thing to remember with the Packers is that even though he has announced that he’s returning, Aaron Rodgers has still yet to officially sign a contract as of Sunday afternoon.
Until that happens, nearly every other offseason move the Packers will make is on hold. For now, it sure is exciting to think about the trio of Adams, Rodgers, and Robinson together in Green Bay.
Robinson has had three seasons of over 1,000 receiving yards, despite having to deal with very mediocre quarterback play and bad coaching during his time in Jacksonville and Chicago. His best season came with the Jaguars in 2015. The former Penn State star hauled in 80 catches for 1,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdown catches.
