WATCH: Anthony Brown connects with Demarcus Robinson for 67-yard touchdown pass in preseason
One of the beautiful parts about NFL preseason football is that players that might not get much playing time during the regular season get their chance to shine. It didn’t take long for two former college stars to connect for a deep touchdown pass with their new team. Former Oregon star Anthony Brown and former Florida star Demarcus Robinson made the most of their opportunities on Saturday night for the Baltimore Ravens, connecting for a beautiful 67-yard touchdown toss against the Washington Commanders.
Robinson was a fourth-round selection by Kansas City taken back in the 2016 NFL Draft. He has spent most of his NFL career with the Chiefs and he’s been utilized as a wide receiver and return specialist. Before joining the Ravens, Robinson had a very brief stint with the Las Vegas Raiders this off-season, before being released during their initial round of cuts in fall camp.
During his six-year stay in Kansas City, he has played in 97 games, starting in 42 of those, hauling in 145 catches for 1,679 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. It’ll be interesting to see if he can make the Ravens’ 53-man roster this fall. For his entire career with the Florida Gators in college, Robinson hauled in 107 catches for 1,375 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
During the 2021-2022 season, Brown threw for 2,989 passing yards, while tossing in 18 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. As a runner, he had 151 rushing attempts for 658 yards, while touching end zone paint nine times on the ground. Brown’s 658 rushing yards were the sixth-most by an Oregon quarterback in a season. He earned the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week honors following the Week 2 victory over Ohio State.

Oregon coach getting NFL buzz
His senior season, he led the Pac-12 Conference with 3,851 yards of total offense. Brown guided the Ducks to a 10-win season and a Pac-12 Championship game appearance. In the Ducks’ massive upset victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Brown accounted for more than 300 yards of total offense and two touchdowns.
Brown spent his first few seasons of college football with the Boston College Eagles. In 2018, he became just the fifth quarterback in school history to throw for twenty touchdowns in a season. Not only that, but he was also the first signal-caller in the program to accomplish such a feat since 2007.
