LOOK: Arizona Cardinals reveal jersey number for Hollywood Brown
One of the biggest trades during the 2022 NFL Draft came when the Arizona Cardinals traded the No. 23 overall pick to the Baltimore Ravens for Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. Now, the newest Cardinals wideout has a new number.
Brown will wear No. 2 when he arrives in Arizona, teaming up with his former Oklahoma teammate Kyler Murray. Murray wears No. 1, which makes it appropriate the Cardinals are billing the duo as a “one-two punch.”
It’s a big chance considering Brown wore the No. 5 at Oklahoma and with the Ravens.
At Oklahoma, Brown and Murray teamed up to form one of the best quarterback-wide receiver tandems in college football. In 2018, Brown had 75 catches for 1,318 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Murray had an electrifying season as well, throwing for over 4,000 yards and rushing for over 800 yards in bringing home the Heisman Trophy.
Hollywood Brown opens up on trade to Cardinals
Baltimore Ravens fans and their former MVP quarterback, Lamar Jackson, were surprised by the team trading Brown to the cardinals. However, the trade was not a surprise to Brown, who later revealed that he requested a trade from Baltimore.

During an interview with the I Am Athlete podcast, Brown confirmed that the rumor regarding his trade request and its authenticity. The former Oklahoma Sooner explained that it was not a knee-jerk reaction and was based on how the thought things were going in Baltimore.
“It was just (about) my happiness. I mean, I talked to Lamar about it, you know, after my second year,” said Brown. “And you know then I after my third year, leading up to the end of the season, he wasn’t playing, and I let him know again, like, yeah bro I can’t do it. And you know it’s not really on Lamar. Like I love Lamar it was just, you know, it’s just the system wasn’t for me personally.”
