Austin Brown, an On3 150 wing, averaged 11.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.3 steals with the JL3 program on Nike’s E16 Circuit this summer. The 6-foot-7 Brown also shot 37.5 percent from three in league games.

“I’m a shooter,” Brown told On3. “I like to get my teammates involved, but whatever it takes to win really. I really like guys like Devin Booker and Tyler Herro. Guys that are about my size and play a little bit like me.”

On3 was able to catch up with three-star Austin Brown recently to discuss his recruitment.

“Right now I have offers from Texas Tech, Iowa, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M, SMU, and TCU,” Brown said. “I took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M this summer.”

Brown talks recruitment

TEXAS A&M: “They have awesome coaches, a group of great guys. The facilities are top-of-the-line. They have a really good culture there.”

SMU: “They got a new coaching staff this year. I’ve talked to them a few times, they seem like really good guys. Coach (Andy) Enfield, is obviously a great coach, looking at what he built at USC. They were really good.”

TEXAS TECH: “They have good coaches there, we get along. They got a great culture down there and they like my game.”

“I’m hearing from schools like Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Creighton, too,” Brown said.

“I don’t have any time frames, I’m really just going with the flow,” Brown said. “This is my first time with this and it is definitely a fun process, so I just want to enjoy it and see how it goes.

“I want to go to a program where I have a great relationship with the coaches. I’m going to look at the location of the school, I want to go somewhere that has a great culture. And play for a coach who plays the way I do. A system that spreads the floor and spaces
