With just one weekend left until the CFP Selection Committee meets for the first time and decides how to rank the top contenders, BCSKnowHow has run the numbers again based on a fan-favorite model from the past. While the BCS era is in the rearview mirror and the college football postseason continues to change, the formula can still showcase where teams stand after Week 8 of the 2026 season.

Before the College Football Playoff rankings, there was the BCS formula, tasked with helping rank the top teams in college football with a balanced approach which weighs computers and human input. Those results were then used to set up a national championship game between two worthy teams.
