Caleb Williams, Mason Cobb to Represent USC at Pac-12 Media Day

Quarterback Caleb Williams and linebacker Mason Cobb will accompany head coach Lincoln Riley as USC’s representatives at this year’s Pac-12 media day.
Williams was an obvious choice. He was one of USC’s two representatives at Pac-12 media day last year. He is also the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and just won the ESPY award for Best College Male Athlete.
Cobb is an interesting choice but it’s a statement from both he and the Trojans. It’s the second year in a row an incoming transfer linebacker is selected by USC. Shane Lee joined Williams last year.
Cobb could have a major role with the Trojans this fall and is a likely at inside linebacker. He’s coming off a season in which he recorded 96 tackles and earned All-Big-12 Second-Team honors. He and Riley will field plenty of questions at media day about USC’s defense and the necessary improvements that will need to be made between last year and this fall.
