Carlos Dunlap‘s NFL story isn’t finished being written, and the next chapter could take place in Carolina with the Panthers.

The former Florida pass rusher took a visit with the NFC franchise on Tuesday, but he left the facility without inking a contract. However, NFL insider Josina Anderson tweeted that the visit went well, and the two sides could come to an agreement in the coming days.

“My understanding is Carlos Dunlap’s visit with the #Panthers ended mid-afternoon. Dunlap is back in Florida. The visit went well and Dunlap is in shape,” tweeted Anderson. “Talks continue on. We’ll see how it goes.”

After coming into the league with the Bengals in 2010, Dunlap spent ten and a half years in Cincinnati. Since being traded to the Seahawks during the 2020 season, the pass rusher has been with Seattle, terrorizing the NFC West. Over the course of his NFL career, Dunlap has accumulated 96.0 sacks, 539 total tackles and 21 forced fumbles.

With his sights set on his hundredth sack, Carlos Dunlap is looking for a new home. Evidently, the Carolina Panthers could be a match.

NFL insider provides insight into Panthers interest in acquiring Baker Mayfield

Could Baker Mayfield be on the move? NFL insider Jonathan Jones believes the former Oklahoma quarterback could be headed east to play for the Carolina Panthers. Jones tweeted the following message regarding a potential move to Carolina for Mayfield:

“As minicamps begin today for the Browns and Panthers, trade talks between the teams continue surrounding QB Baker Mayfield, per sources. The main issue remains Mayfield’s salary and how much (or how little) teams pay.”

Jones added this in an additional tweet:

“There’s urgency on Carolina’s side to execute the deal soon so Mayfield can get some time in minicamp with the Panthers. For the Browns, it’s the best offer they have. Talks ongoing.”

So there you have it. An urgent Panthers front office wants to solve their quarterback situation but need to figure out whether they’re willing to fork over the kind of money Mayfield is looking for.
