Cleveland Browns head coach reveals Odell Beckham Jr's injury timetable
The Cleveland Browns are getting the services of All-Pro receiver Odell Beckham back this week, or at least in practice. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said he expects his receiver to be a full go at practice.
Stefanski on Beckham
“We’ll see how he progresses this week. I expect him to be full go at practice,” Stefanski said. “I’m not ruling him out.”
In last week’s practices, Beckham was still a limited participant. And before speculation could swirl about his return against last Sunday’s opponent, the Houston Texans, Stefanski ruled Beckham out the Wednesday before the game.
Last week, Stefanski and the Browns took the cautious route with getting Beckham ready to play again. And this week appears to be no different, even with Beckham set to return to full participation in practice with the team. The head coach has given no word on whether we will see his star wideout play in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Beckham has been an explosive playmaker ever since he was taken in the first round by the New York Giants in the 2014 NFL Draft. Since his inaugural season, he has finished with at least 1,000 yards receiving in at least five of his seven seasons. The only seasons he did not pass that mark were his 2017 season and last year. His 2020 campaign with the Browns was cut short in week seven when he went down with an ACL injury.

Browns lose another wideout
If Odell Beckham Jr is able to play this week his activation comes just in the nick of time. The Browns are expected to be without their other Pro Bowl receiver, Jarvis Landry for a while. Landry suffered a knee injury in the first quarter against the Texans and did not return.
Stefanski said after the game that it’s an MCL injury and the former LSU receiver is set to undergo an MRI. That MRI revealed a sprained MCL in his left knee. Landry is currently on the team’s injured reserve and will miss a minimum of three games recovering.
Without either two of the Pro Bowl receivers, the Browns will have to rely heavily on the three receivers they have left In the passing game. However, Browns fans should anticipate a heavy dose of their twin-headed rushing attack in Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was also listed on the injury report after dislocating his shoulder while attempting to make a tackle after an interception.
