There is a quiet buzz coming out of Raleigh, North Carolina, about Colt Langdon. The 6-foot-7 sophomore is coming off a freshman campaign at Raleigh (NC) Millbrook High, where he averaged 14.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

“I feel like my game’s very versatile,” Langdon told On3. “I feel like I can guard multiple positions and can play multiple positions on offense, and I can go get a bucket on offense too. My favorite player right now is Jayson Tatum; I like the way he can be able to score and how his body’s built. He can be able to guard multiple positions; I feel like that’s my game.”

The class of 2025 forward is coming off a summer with the Team Loaded Va program on the Adidas 3SSB 15u Circuit, where college coaches started to take notice. On3 caught up with Colt Langdon at the recent North Carolina Top 80 event to talk about the early stages of his recruitment.

“I have offers from LSU, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Radford, Ohio, and Illinois,” Langdon said. “I’ve visited LSU, they offered me while I was down there, and I’ve visited Virginia Tech.”

Langdon talks visits

LSU: “When I was down there, I learned that their coaching staff is great. You know, Coach Matt McMahon, he’s a really good person, and I think they can be a really special team. Coach Ronnie Hamilton, all the coaches, staff, I think they’re gonna do really well at LSU.

“They told me they like my ability to be versatile. They said they like that I can guard multiple positions, that I have a good demeanor on the court, and I try to make my teammates better.”

Virginia Tech: “I’d say that I loved the campus up there. It is really beautiful up in the mountains, so it was really cool to be there. I like fishing, so they have a lot of great lakes around there. And I like the coaches; coach (Mike) Young is a great person, and so is Coach Mike Jones.

“I really like the way they ran the practice. They have a lot of people that can come off screens and shoot, and that’s something I’m really good at. I saw they have a bunch of bigger guards that can guard both positions, which I feel like I am. So, it was really cool being up there.”

“I feel like Virginia might be close to offering,” Langdon said. “Georgia, too. I’ve had contact with NC State a lot. So those schools are interested.”

In his words

“I’m looking for a school where I can just feel like I’m part of a family,” Langdon said. “I want to play for a coach and a staff that sticks together and believes in their players and is able to develop them. Mainly though, I just want to win. Playing in March Madness is everyone’s goal, and that’s my goal too.

“I’ll look for a playing style that plays with pace, where you can get up and down a lot. Also, a program that puts an emphasis on playing defense; sitting down, getting stops, and getting out to run is something that I’d really enjoy.”
