Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had a visible bruise after sustaining a minor injury from his receiver CeeDee Lamb while celebrating a touchdown. As the Cowboys took a 21-3 lead early over the Atlanta Falcons, Lamb was congratulated by Prescott on the sideline as his helmet hit Prescott in the face.

Dak Prescott’s minor injury

Cameras caught the moment on the sideline when Prescott took Lamb’s helmet to his cheek as the quarterback rubbed the impact spot without much concern. After the Cowboys secured their big win 43-3, Prescott showed a visible bruise on his face during a press appearance. There did not seem to be any concern for the Cowboys’ star quarterback.

“Dak Prescott has a reddish bruise on his right cheek,” detailed The Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins after Prescott’s media appearance. “It’s a result of CeeDee Lamb head butting him after the second touchdown. Prescott didn’t have a helmet on when Lamb (who was wearing his helmet) came to hug him.”

Pain in his face aside, Prescott and the Cowboys had an incredible day on Sunday against the Falcons. With a 29-point second quarter, the Cowboys received huge contributions from almost every star on their roster.

Prescott ended the day with two passing touchdowns and 296 yards, along with a rushing touchdown. Running back Ezekiel Elliott added two touchdowns of his own on just 14 carries. Before hitting his quarterback in the head, Lamb picked up two touchdowns of his own and finished with 94 yards.

The Cowboys improved to 7-2 on the season and will travel to play the Kansas City Chiefs next. Also upcoming for the Cowboys is a home game against the Las Vegas Raiders and an away game against the New Orleans Saints.

CeeDee Lamb’s arm injury

In more serious news for the Cowboys, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb unfortunately suffered an injury as well. Lamb suffered an arm contusion and was ruled questionable to return. Luckily the Cowboys had built such an early lead that bringing Lamb out was not necessary.

Lamb has had a big season for the Cowboys, so hopefully his injury is not serious. On the year prior to Sunday’s game, the former Oklahoma star had 41 receptions on 66 targets for 632 yards and four touchdowns. He has three 100-yard receiving days on the season.

The Cowboys haven’t yet been at full health offensively this season. Wide receiver Michael Gallup just made his return against the Falcons, catching three passes for 42 yards. Lamb is excited to have Gallup back in the Cowboys’ receiver room after his injury.

“Very excited,” Lamb said of Gallup’s return, as posted in a tweet from Jon Machota of The Athletic. “A lot of people know what MG can do, and if you don’t, you’ll find out real soon. The guy is a playmaker, phenomenal teammate. Can’t wait for him to touch the end zone a couple times here soon.”
