Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott uses colorful five-word description after bet with defense
After their 21-6 win over the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott revealed a bet that the offense had going with the defense. Prescott stated that starting against the Giants, the Cowboys’ offense bet the defense that they would score more touchdowns than they would have takeaways.
On Sunday in the win, the defense won the bet with four takeaways against two offensive touchdowns.

After the game, Prescott was happy with the team’s comfortable win despite his own lackluster performance. “Defense is kicking our ass,” joked Prescott after explaining the bet his offense had with their defense. “They’re doing a great job getting the ball — we’ve gotta reward these guys with touchdowns.”
As the regular season draws closer to a close and the Cowboys have nearly clinched an NFC East division title, Prescott and the offense has struggled. Early in the season Dallas looked like one of the best offenses in the league, and were finding success by combining a dramatically improved defense with it.
Now, the Dallas defense appears to be championship caliber while questions plague whether the offense will be able to keep up. Since a mid-season injury forced Prescott out for some time, he has struggled to reach the same level he had found to begin the year. Adding to their struggles, Ezekiel Elliott has been battling a knee injury for most of the season that has seemed to hold him back as well. Tony Pollard has been an incredible option to relieve Elliott throughout the year, but now he’s also been saddled with an injury that he’s working through.

On Sunday, the Cowboys defense did their job winning Prescott’s bet against the Giants. Trevon Diggs recorded his tenth interception of the season, one of four turnovers the Cowboys forced in the game. Elliott got an early rushing touchdown but even that was off the defense’s work. Elliott ran for the 13-yard score after an interception gave them the ball on New York’s 13-yard line.
Dallas’ other touchdown came on a 1-yard touchdown pass from Prescott to tight end Dalton Schultz, on another short field earned by the defense. The Giants attempted a run on fourth-and-one, turning the ball over on downs on their own 29-yard line.
The Cowboys will end their season with games against Philadelphia, Washington and Arizona. While the Cowboys’ lead should hold against their division rivals, their matchup with Arizona could have major implications for playoff seeding. As of now, the Cowboys are the third seed in the NFC, tied in record with the Cardinals.
