Mike McCarthy provides update on Micah Parsons after knee injury
Dallas Cowboys fans held their breath during Sunday’s blowout win over the Minnesota Vikings, with linebacker Micah Parsons suffering a knee injury. He missed a drive in the fourth quarter before returning to the field. However, on a short week, there could be concern heading into Thanksgiving.
Head coach Mike McCarthy provided an update on Parsons, saying the knee is “good.” The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year will go through walkthrough as Dallas prepares for an NFC East battle against the New York Giants on Thursday.

“Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said LB Micah Parsons’ knee is ‘good.’ He will participate in walkthrough today,” Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News said. “Briefly exited late in fourth quarter and returned for another series.”
Parsons exploded on Sunday afternoon, helping the Cowboys put together an all-time defensive performance against the Vikings. He had been relatively quiet over the past couple week, lining back up at linebacker. However, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn had enough and brought back Parsons as a pass rusher.
Four tackles, two sacks, five quarterback hits, a tackle for a loss, and a forced fumble was the stat line of Parsons. He was not the only player to eat, with Demarcus Lawrence and Dorance Armstrong having strong days too.
Now, the goal will to get healthy before Thursday’s quick turnaround in what will be an important game in the race for the NFC East.

Micah Parsons leaves Vikings game with knee injury
When Parsons left Sunday’s game against Minnesota with a knee injury, it seemed as if he were likely done for the day. Dallas led the Vikings 37-3 in the fourth quarter at the time, and it didn’t seem worth the risk to bring Parsons back.
However, Parsons returned to the game moments later, causing many to question the Cowboys’ injury management skills. Adding to the puzzling decision was the fact that Dallas is scheduled to play again in just four days on Thanksgiving.
Either way, Parsons has been a force for the Cowboys this game, with a pair of sacks and four tackles. Dallas finished with seven sacks as a team in an eventual 40-3 victory against Minnesota.
The Cowboys defense was fantastic all afternoon, shutting out the Vikings over the final three quarters. Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins was held to just 105 yards passing on 12-of-23 passing.
