As if Micah Parsons wasn’t disliked enough in Philadelphia, recent comments most likely did not improve the two’s relationship. Parsons was recently critical of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, asking if he was the one performing well or if it was a team effort.

Hurts being involved in the MVP conversation was questioned by the Cowboys linebacker as well.

Parsons was asked about his comments for the first time on Thursday, where “no disrespect” was meant toward Hurts. He said small clips were taken out of context and once against praised the job Hurts has been able to do with Philadelphia.

“Obviously they took small clips and just took one line of what was really talked about…no disrespect to Hurts,” Parsons said. “I think he’s doing a great job this year.”

Hurts had the opportunity to respond to Parsons earlier in the week but did not give much attention to the topic. He insisted the Chicago Bears were on his mind, preparing for Sunday’s showdown.

There is always some kind of back-and-forth between the Cowboys and Eagles, no matter how good the two teams are. This season means just a bit more, having the top two record in the NFC. However, the Eagles currently have bragging rights in the rivalry.

A 26-17 Sunday Night Football win at Lincoln Financial Field is the only head-to-head meeting thus far in the 2022 season. Hurts was able to throw for two touchdowns, while Parsons recorded seven tackles and a tackle for loss.

Christmas Eve will be the next matchup between the two, where tempers have a chance to be even higher than before. Alongside comments made, serious playoff seeding implications will be on the line for both teams. This will be one neither Dallas nor Philadelphia wants to lose.

Micah Parsons questions Jalen Hurts as NFL MVP candidate

Many across the league are in awe of what Hurts has accomplished but Parsons doesn’t seem too overly impressed.

It’s not unusual for somebody associated with the Dallas Cowboys to not think as highly of a Philadelphia Eagle. But rarely is a player doing so in public, as Parsons was questioning Hurts being involved in the MVP discussion.

“You look at the Eagles,” Parsons began. “Is it Jalen Hurts or the team? It’s system and team.”

Parsons was having a conversation with Von Miller on his show, The Von Cast, where there was some pushback. Miller argued both Hurts and the Eagles can be playing well, especially with top-level offensive talent.

“They got a great offensive line, which helps Hurts,” Miller said. “Hurts has AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. They got a good running game.”
