Dallas Cowboys star rookie defender Micah Parsons provided an update on his COVID-19 recovery process, explaining how it affected his body. Parsons was placed on the team’s COVID-19 list before the final game of the season after a positive test, missing their game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Micah Parsons gives COVID-19 update

“I had some fatigue and some muscle aches,” Parsons said of his COVID-19 recovery. “I feel great [now]. I got a whole bunch of rest. I like the way I came off our last bye week, so hopefully I can follow that.”

The Cowboys rested several players who were dealing with injuries or tested positive for COVID-19 last week, giving them an additional week to heal up for the playoffs. Parsons’ return will be a major boost to the Cowboys’ defense in all facets, as the star rookie has seen playing time all over the field.

Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has used Parsons as a traditional linebacker, edge rusher and coverage defender this season. Parsons has 13 sacks and three forced fumbles on the season while becoming known for his speed as a pass rusher. In addition to his pass rushing efforts, Parsons has 84 tackles on the season, including 20 tackles for a loss.

Mike McCarthy on playing at home

Dallas Cowboys fans get the pleasure of welcoming opposition to AT&T Stadium on Sunday for round one of the NFL playoffs. Head coach Mike McCarthy had a message for them ahead of the San Francisco 49ers’ arrival this week.

First of all, he requested as many Cowboys fans to be in the building as possible, keeping 49ers fans at home. He also said that the atmosphere at AT&T has been great this year. McCarthy acknowledged that it’s up to the Dallas players and staff to give the fans “something to cheer about.”

“This is going to be a great afternoon,” McCarthy said.
