Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has dealt with his fair share of injuries over the last two seasons. Last year, Prescott suffered a gruesome leg injury that forced him to miss the majority of the season. Before this season even began, Prescott was dealing with shoulder issues in addition to working his leg back into shape. A few weeks ago, Prescott was forced out of action due to another injury. The injuries for Prescott worry Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Now that Prescott is seemingly back in full health, the Cowboys are trying to be healthy with him. Dallas has a commanding lead in the NFC East division, but things could look very different if Prescott went down with more injuries.

Jerry Jones admits that he sometimes worries about Prescott taking hits. Due to the recent bad luck with injuries for Prescott, Jones just wants to make sure his quarterback is able to be there at the end of the season.

“I worry about it. We got to realize that at the end of the year what this is about is being standing,” Jones said via Around the NFL’s Chase Goodbread. “Warren Buffett one time said the hardest thing about accumulating wealth is to be there to spend it.”

Stephen Jones: Prescott ‘sets the tone’ for the Cowboys

Jerry Jones’ son, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones, also doesn’t want to see Prescott taking on a lot of hits. He went on to say that Prescott is a great competitor who feels like he has something to prove.

“That’s just the way he’s going to play the game. He’s going to play to win. He’s going to play to score. That’s what makes Dak, Dak. He’s a fierce competitor. He’s a great leader. He sets the tone for this team,” Stephen Jones said. “Obviously, you could feel it in him all week long that he had something to prove. He went out and just did an amazing job with this football team. We’re so fortunate to have him, but I will say I hope we don’t see that much the rest of the year.”
