Dallas Cowboys receive updates on multiple injured players ahead of Monday's game
We now have status updates on four prominent Dallas Cowboys ahead of their Monday night game against the NFC East rival New York Giants. Veteran offensive lineman Jason Peters, an import from Chicago, is set to make his Dallas debut along with a position change, which was reported earlier.
More news has come down the pipe, though. According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, one Cowboy is good to go, another is not, and a third is a game time decision.
Pelissero tweeted Monday morning that tight end Dalton Schultz will test out his injury before the game but ultimately is not expected to play. Here was that report. “#Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz traveled with the team and plans to test his knee today before a final decision on his status against the #Giants, per source. It sounds unlikely he’ll play, but Schultz is a competitor so it can’t be ruled out.”
Let’s call Schultz “doubtful.”

However, Pelissero did share optimism for stud linebacker Micah Parsons being able to play. “LB Micah Parsons, who barely practiced this week because of illness, is good to go.”

The Parsons tweet also included a ruling on wide receiver Michael Gallup’s availability. Which wasn’t quite as good news for Cowboys fans. Here was Pelissero’s update on him. “#Cowboys WR Michael Gallup is also expected to be inactive tonight against the #Giants, per source. His return from knee reconstruction will have to wait at least another week.”
Whew, a lot of moving parts for Dallas heading into Monday night. Obviously, it goes without saying that Dak Prescott will also be out again too.
So he’s out, along with Gallup and likely Schultz. No other way around it: titanic losses for the Dallas Cowboys passing game. However, Jason Peters and Micah Parsons are at least good to go, which is positive.
