Dallas Cowboys release Thursday injury report ahead of Giants game
The Dallas Cowboys released their injury report after Thursday’s practice ahead of Sunday’s game versus the New York Giants.
The Cowboys and Giants face off Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX. Dallas is in control of the top spot in the NFC East with their 9-4 record. New York is 4-9 so far this season, including a 44-20 loss to the Boys.
Here’s the Cowboys’ full injury report for Thursday.
Dallas Thursday injury report
Did not participate — OT Tyron Smith (ankle), CB Kelvin Joseph (Illness)
Tyron Smith missed time earlier this year with a different ankle injury. He was injured again on Sunday against Washington when his leg got caught underneath left guard Connor McGovern in the third quarter.
Defensive back Kelvin Joseph is sick this week but it is not COVID-19 related.
Limited — RB Tony Pollard (foot), DE DeMarcus Lawrence (foot)
Pollard missed Sunday’s game with an injury he suffered against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thanksgiving. He didn’t practice at all last week and deemed himself a “game-time decision” for the game against Washington. He missed practice Wednesday but was back on Thursday, practicing in a limited fashion.
DeMarcus Lawrence had two tackles and two pass breakups in his return to action for the Dallas Cowboys. He missed 10 games with his foot injurt.
Full participant — TE Sean McKeon (neck), RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee)
Sean McKeon was a full participant on Thursday as he continues dealing with a neck injury.
Elliott, meanwhile, was a full go against Washington, especially in Pollard’s absence. He had 12 carries for 45 yards and a 15-yard reception for Dallas in the 27-20 victory over Washington.

Cowboys update Tony Pollard’s status
Heading into the final four games of the season, the race for the No. 1 seed in the NFC is beginning to heat up. Right in the middle of the pack is the Dallas Cowboys are just one game back from having the bye in the playoffs.
However, heading into Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, it seems as if they could be without Tony Pollard. The Dallas running back did not practice on Wednesday, still dealing with a foot injury. He did return to practice on Thursday.
Pollard has been a nice boost to the Cowboys’ offense behind Ezekiel Elliot. He’s rushed for over 600 yards this season and gotten into the endzone twice, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. The running back is a threat in the air as well, having 259 receiving yards on 31 receptions.
The Dallas rushing attack has struggled over the past few weeks with both Pollard and Elliot suffering injuries. They will want to have both healthy and ready to go for the playoffs.
