Dallas Cowboys release Thursday injury report for Week 5 vs Los Angeles Rams
The Dallas Cowboys surprisingly sit at 3-1, despite losing quarterback Dak Prescott a few weeks ago to a thumb injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cooper Rush has done an excellent job in his place. Last game against the Washington Commanders, he completed 15 of 27 passes for 223 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and no interceptions. This Sunday, the Cowboys will face off against the Los Angeles Rams and their future Hall-of-Fame defensive lineman Aaron Donald. On Thursday afternoon, Dallas dropped their Week 5 injury report ahead of the matchup. Let’s get down into the specifics.
Cowboys’ star receiver Michael Gallup made his return to the lineup last Sunday for the first time since suffering a torn ACL on Jan. 2. He hauled in two catches for 24 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Dallas Cowboys Thursday injury report vs Los Angeles Rams
Did not practice — Dak Prescott QB (right thumb), CeeDee Lamb WR (groin)
Prescott did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday and Jerry Jones said earlier this week that Prescott is still struggling to grip the football, which is a key indicator for him to return to play. He’s still recovering from the right thumb injury he suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few weeks ago. We’ll have to see how his recovery progresses in the coming weeks. Star receiver CeeDee Lamb did not practice on Thursday due to a groin injury, but he has assured reporters that he is “fine” and will be ready to go on Sunday. Today was the first day of the week that he popped up on the injury report.
Limited participants — Jake Ferguson TE (knee), Quinton Bohanna DT (neck/shoulder), Jourdan Lewis DB (groin), Donovan Wilson S (ankle)
Donovan Wilson has been playing outstanding football for the Cowboys this season. He’d be a major loss for Dallas if he can’t suit up on Sunday. He was a limited practice participant on Wednesday and Thursday, so we’ll have to wait and see what he does on Friday. The Cowboys’ secondary needs all the help it can get on Sunday as they try to slow the defending triple-crown champion, Cooper Kupp.

Full participants — Dalton Schultz TE, Connor McGovern G (ankle), Jayron Kearse S (knee), Malik Hooker S (thumb), Noah Brown WR (neck)
The good news for Cowboys’ fans is that these are all critical players and they’ve all gotten in two days of full practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. Barring any sort of major setbacks, all of them should be good to go for the Rams game. Schultz is a major boost to the Cowboys’ passing attack. Malik Hooker has long been an exceptional talent. He’s just struggled with some bad luck on the injury front over the years. When healthy, he’s shown his immense talent. Hooker and Kearse will have their hands full with Cooper Kupp.
Wide receiver Noah Brown has been one of the great surprises of the 2022 season for Dallas. He’s made quite a splash this season already, hauling in 18 catches for 274 receiving yards and a touchdown. Brown has excellent chemistry with Cooper Rush and the two have shown a strong connection for the past few weeks. The former Ohio State standout is averaging 15.2 yards per catch–ranking him 19th in the league in that stat category.
