Report: Marion Barber cause of death revealed as heat stroke
Former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber tragically passed away at the beginning of June, being found dead in his apartment. After a seven-year NFL career, Barber was just a decade out of football and was 38 years old.
The cause of death surrounding the former Dallas star has been revealed as well. According to multiple reports, The Collin County medical examiner’s office said Barber suffered from heat stroke.
Clarence Hill of the Dallas Morning News was the first to report on June 1 on Barber’s death, saying police went to his apartment to conduct a welfare check. A neighbor had called about a water leak and when authorities went to check on him, the shower was running and Barber was found dead.
Former teammates, such as quarterback Tony Romo, have released statements on what Barber meant to them. Barber and Romo were a long-time duo inside the Dallas organization and the quarterback remembered the positives on the field and off the field.
“Marion Barber Ill. The thoughts and prayers of the Romo family go out to MB Ill and his entire family,” wrote Romo. “Cowboy fans will never forget his aggressive running style and shear energy he brought every time he was on the field. He could run, block, catch, and he would do all the dirty work and ask for more. It was a pleasure playing alongside him.
