While losing Jalen Hurts to injury may dampen things, Christmas Eve is still a big one for both the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. A rivalry game that would matter even if both teams had nothing in the win column, Saturday pairs together two of the best in the NFC.

Philadelphia got a statement win earlier in the year and Dallas will be looking to repay the favor with a Holiday twist.

Heading into the game, the latest injury report from Dallas was released. Only two players fell into the ‘DNP’ category and both were expected. Both are linebackers, with Micah Parsons catching the illness going around in Frisco, while Leighton Vander Esch is still recovering from a stinger suffered against Jacksonville.

Limited – DE Dorance Armstrong (knee), WR Noah Brown (foot), TE Jake Ferguson (concussion), S Jayron Kerse (shoulder/back), DE Demarcus Lawrence (foot)

Did Not Practice – LB Micah Parsons (illness), LB Leighton Vander Esch (neck)

Final decision will be made soon on injuries, especially with the game a day earlier than usual. Dallas has already clinched a spot in the playoffs but can still sure up their spot atop the Wild Card standings.

Having everyone available heading into the final stretch of the season should be a goal of head coach Mike McCarthy. Especially when facing off against an intense divisional rival, on national TV, on a festive holiday.

Making the situation more precarious, according to head coach Mike McCarthy, the already-ailing defense will be without linebacker and sack leader Micah Parsons for the second consecutive day on Wednesday due to illness.

The Cowboys have been dealing with bouts of sickness throughout the locker room for the last few weeks.

“It’s going around,” McCarthy said on Wednesday.

Luckily for Parsons, he won’t have to worry about travel for this week’s game. Dallas hosts the Eagles at AT&T Stadium on Saturday afternoon under the covered roof, avoiding the winter blast coming in from the north.

This season, the former first-round pick has 59 tackles with 13 sacks and 13 tackles for loss. His sack total is fourth in the league after 14 games. He also has three forced fumbles, which is tied for fourth as well.
