Mike McCarthy provides update on CeeDee Lamb
After a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys will have a short week, attempting to get back to their winning ways. They will play host to another AFC West opponent on Thanksgiving in the Las Vegas Raiders.
One of the disadvantages of playing on Thursday is injured players do not have as much time to return. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who suffered a concussion on Sunday, is one of those players who will not benefit from the quick turnaround.
According to head coach Mike McCarthy, Lamb participated in team meetings on Monday. Although the Cowboys did not practice, they released a practice report as if they would have. The second-year wide receiver was listed as a DNP.
“The fact that he was in the meetings today is definitely a big step in the right direction,” McCarthy said on Monday.
In order to play on Thursday, Lamb must go through concussion protocols and pass. He got injured on one of the final plays of the first half, going for a 50/50 ball in the endzone thrown by quarterback Dak Prescott.

CeeDee Lamb not only injured Dallas player
The Cowboys have quite a few injuries to deal with before playing the Raiders on Thursday afternoon. Another one is running back Ezekiel Elliot, who injured his ankle on Sunday.
On a short passing route, Elliott was wrapped up and tackled in routine fashion. Unfortunately, the defenders’ weight came down directly on Elliott’s right ankle and further twisted his already injured knee. Elliott limped off the field after the play, but returned on the next offensive drive.
Left tackle Tyron Smith possibly returning would be a huge addition for a Cowboys offensive line that got shredded by Kansas City. Terrance Steele has been playing in his absence, causing issues on the left side next to first-time left guard starter Connor McGovern.
“We’re definitely hopeful he’ll be ready to go,” McCarthy said.
Safety Donovan Wilson was another key starter, as the Cowboys’ safety injured his shoulder and was listed as questionable to return to the game. Without any real time to recover from his injury on Monday, his designation as out from practice is not a surprise at this time.
