The Dallas Cowboys earned their first win of the season in dramatic fashion, taking down the Cincinnati Bengals with a field goal. Dallas entered the game with huge questions surrounding their offense as Cooper Rush took over for the injured Dak Prescott — only to deliver a game-winning field goal as time expired over the former AFC champions.
Cowboys win after late drama
Cooper Rush and the offense took the field for the final drive of the game and Rush delivered three huge strikes down the field to get the Cowboys into field goal range. Dallas took a seemingly early timeout to stop the clock at 24 seconds, leaving them with no timeouts remaining. After running the ball one final time to pick up a few extra yards and kill the clock, Dallas was able to spike the ball and set up a 50-yard field goal attempt for Brett Maher.
Maher delivered in the clutch moment, hitting his second field goal from over 50-yards in the game and giving Dallas the 20-17 win over the Bengals.
Dez Bryant bets big on Dallas
The Cowboys on the field weren’t the only ones to win big on Sunday, as former Dallas star Dez Bryant earned a big payday from the win. Bryant shared the big news after the win, claiming that he won $37,000 off a bet he placed on his former team.

Bryant remains one of the best receivers in Dallas history, and his love for the team is still evident in his willingness to place a $10,000 bet down on a Dallas team without Dak Prescott and several key players missing on offense. Dallas hosted the former AFC champions and saw Cooper Rush lead them down the field for touchdowns on the first two drives of the game.
Bryant made three Pro Bowl appearances in his time with the Cowboys and had a phenomenal season in 2014 that saw him win first-team All-Pro honors. In his eight-year career as a Cowboys receiver, Bryant pulled in 73 touchdowns and 7,459 yards.
