Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson had some interesting comments on Twitter following the Eagles’ NFC Championship victory over the San Fransisco 49ers on Sunday. The streets of Philadelphia were in all-out celebration mode following their big win in anticipation of their Super Bowl appearance on February 12.

And as footage of the city of brotherly love celebrating started to surface, Mayor Johnson replied to one video, making a comment about how it relates to the city of Dallas and the Cowboys. Johnson said, “The Eagles truly belong to the City of Philadelphia and vice versa. And that’s pretty damn cool. The City of Dallas deserves to know what this kind of mutual love feels like.”

Johnson’s shot at America’s team and envy of a divisional rival comes following the Cowboys’ playoff loss to the 49ers, a 19-12 loss in the divisional round of the playoffs a week ago highlighted by a poor offensive performance from Dallas.

The Cowboys and the city of Dallas have not been able to celebrate a Super Bowl appearance in 27 years, the last time being after their 1995 NFC Championship game victory over the Green Bay Packers that earned them an appearance and eventual victory in Super Bowl XXX. Dallas has already made numerous coaching staff changes this offseason, including the firing of various members of their coaching staff and mutually parting ways with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

It will be interesting to see what other moves the Cowboys make with both their staff and roster this offseason, and even more intriguing to see if those moves can eventually lead to an NFC Championship win celebration in the streets of Dallas.

WATCH: Jalen Hurts casually celebrates NFC title win with victory cigar

Former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts had an incredible season for the Philadelphia Eagles, showing tremendous improvement and leading his team to a trip to Super Bowl LVII following their 31-7 win over the San Fransisco 49ers.

The Eagles surely did plenty of celebrating following their NFC Championship, but Hurts took a moment to himself following the game as well. Hurts was caught on camera after the win in the locker room puffing on a cigar and scrolling through his phone, which was likely swamped with messages and notifications following their huge victory.

Hurts’ solo celebration in his locker was surely deserved, as he quieted a lot of doubters this season. He had an underwhelming performance versus the 49ers in a game that predominantly featured Philadelphia’s run game, throwing for just 121 yards and rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown scamper.

But he was a major key to the Eagles’ success this season leading them to a 16-3 record all the way to the Super Bowl, throwing for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns during the regular season, and earning a spot as a finalist for the NFL MVP Award.
