Colorado's blow-out victory over UCF could lead to a few more exciting recruiting wins on the trail
Following Colorado’s dominant 48-21 victory over UCF early Saturday evening, the charismatic head coach Deion Sanders told Fox in the postgame “I’ve lost the words.”
It was the Buffaloes most complete performance under this second-year coaching staff.
Travis Hunter had 89 yards receiving and a touchdown to go along with an interception, striking a Heisman pose in the process. He’s the favorite to win that award.
Shedeur Sanders will be in line for postseason awards himself. He threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns.
The Buffaloes defense forced four turnovers. Kicker Alejandro Mata made a couple big field goals at the end of the first half to give the road team the momentum at intermission.
“I’m proud of the coaches, proud of the young men and all our believers,” Sanders said.
There will certainly be a lot more believers after a performance like this. Colorado will aim to turn it into gold on the recruiting trail and then again in the Transfer Portal following the season.
Deion Sanders and Colorado looking for flips
The Buffaloes have eight commitments to date with four-star defensive back Antonio Branch the latest to join the fold earlier this week after spending time in Boulder the weekend before. He was previously committed to Penn State.
Sanders and his staff are looking for more flips. You know he’s going to get a big one or two by the end of the cycle. He does every year.
Colorado is trending for On300 defensive back Byron Baldwin who is currently a verbal to Indiana. He visited the Buffaloes last weekend. So did USC offensive tackle Carde Smith.
Obviously five-star quarterback and USC commit Julian Lewis is the big fish out there. The Buffaloes will line up big recruiting weekends when they host Cincinnati and Kansas State. They’ll aim to get Lewis and Smith back for one of those games.
Sanders talked with five-star receiver and Oregon commit Dallas Wilson prior to Saturday’s game.

“Coach Prime (Deion Sanders) encouraged me to come watch the show,” Wilson told On3’s Chad Simmons.
Wilson wasn’t the only prospect UCF brought in that Colorado wanted to impress. They’re swinging at LSU commit and edge rusher On300 edge and LSU commit Jesse Harrold.
Moving forward Colorado is going to swing at guys like five-star receiver Jerome Myles and Ole Miss receiver commit Samari Reed.

Houston (Texas) North Shore four-star receiver Quanell Farrakhan Jr. is the jewel of the class. He was tuned in today.
“It’s special because the whole word is against us,” Farrakhan said. “Just sending a message Colorado can compete really stood out. Gotta keep doing their thing and proving the world wrong.
“How their o-line stepped up and played big today. I loved seeing that. A lot of people try to bash them and those boys got out there and played like dogs.”
