Deion Sanders makes bold statement on Dallas Cowboys rookie Micah Parsons
Deion Sanders is more than impressed with Cowboys rookie star Micah Parsons. It’s tough not to be — in his first season in the NFL, the former Penn State star has done everything right. Parsons is the runaway NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, but he’s also one of the favorites for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Joining The Rich Eisen Show, Sanders spoke about how impressive of a player Parsons has been this season.
“Parsons is a freak man,” stated Sanders. “He’s a darn freak, man. We have a kid that plays defensive end – he was an insider linebacker that we moved to defensive end – that was All-SWAC, All-FCS, everything. James Houston, that came to us from the University of Florida. The kid just balled out this year and got all kind of accolades. But he reminds me of that guy. And my whole pitch to him was look, man, Parsons was the inside guy — now he’s outside, inside, he’s everywhere. You could do the same. Because he was the inside linebacker, but he would’ve started for us at inside so we moved him to be rushing. My god, he broke records and he’s phenomenal.
“Parsons is a freak of nature that could possibly be the defensive MVP. Arguably, they could be the MVP. Depending on how they finish up the season.”
As you can see, Sanders used Parsons to praise one of his stars — linebacker James Houston. Using Parsons as an example, Sanders had the Jackson State linebacker rush the passer this season. Even in his first year, Parsons is inspiring coaching decisions at all levels of football.

Micah Parsons in 2021
Deion Sanders joins the long list of people who are impressed with Cowboys star Micah Parsons. The linebacker has completely changed the Dallas defense, taking them to a championship-caliber unit.
In his rookie season, Parsons has played all over the field — accumulating sacks anywhere he plays. On the season, the first-round pick has 76 tackles — amassing 12 sacks and 3 forced fumbles in the process.
Moreover, Parsons has even drawn comparisons to the best defensive player in league history — New York Giants legend Lawrence Taylor. It’s the loftiest comparison for any defensive player, but Parsons’s historic season is causing fans and experts to evoke memories of the all-time great.
Time will tell how good Micah Parsons can be. However, it’s scary to think he can be even better than he’s been thus far.
