Denver Broncos to interview former Michigan standout for offensive coordinator role

The Denver Broncos are in need of an offensive coordinator and they have recently turned to an AFC West rivals coaching staff in search of a prospect. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Broncos have set up an interview with the Los Angeles Chargers tight end coach Kevin Koger. Denver recently signed Nathaniel Hackett as a new head coach on Jan 27. And now with that question answered the focus shifts to who will lead the Denver offense and compete with the high octane offenses of the rest of the AFC West in the Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chargers.

Koger has spent his last four years around high-caliber offenses in the NFL. From 2019 to 2020, he was with the Green Bay Packers staff as an offensive quality control coach. There, he got to work with the likes of reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers and offensive-minded headman Matt LaFleur. This past offseason is when he left the Packers for a better position with the Chargers and became their tight end coach.

Ken Dorsey is a top candidate for Buffalo’s offensive coordinator vacancy

As news breaks that Buffalo Bills instate rival the New York Giants plan on hiring their offensive coordinator as New York’s new head coach, one can’t help but wonder what the Bills will do next. Well according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Buffalo has a backup plan already in mind and that person is already with the organization.

Buffalo will likely turn to their passing game coordinator and quarterback coach Ken Dorsey as their new offensive coordinator.

“A beneficiary of Brian Daboll’s departure, Buffalo’s passing-game coordinator and QB coach Ken Dorsey is likely to become an offensive coordinator either with the Bills or Giants, per sources,” wrote Schefter on Twitter.

If you are a fan of college football, the name, Ken Dorsey will definitely ring a bell or two. He was the starting quarterback for the 2001 BCS national championships Miami Hurricanes. That 2001 Hurricane squad is viewed as one of the best college football teams of all time.

Dorsey had a hard time carving out a role in the pros after being drafted in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He spent six years in the league as a backup in San Francisco and also in Cleveland. His coaching career started in 2013 with the Carolina Panthers as their quarterback coach. He stayed five years in Carolina before taking the job with the Bills in 2019.
