Bradley Chubb detained on failure-to-appear warrant
Denver Broncos star outside linebacker Bradley Chubb was detained on Tuesday after failing to appear for his Aug. 6 court date, per Mark Klis of 9News.
Chubb was scheduled to appear in court for driving under restraint and for having expired license plates.
Chubb was charged May 6 for misdemeanor driving under restraint and also for having his license plates expired for 60-plus days.
The Broncos told Klis in a statement that Chubb has resolved the issue.
“We are aware of the matter, which was released to an unresolved traffic issue that has now been addressed,” the Broncos said in a statement.
Per Klis, Sgt. Jeff Miller of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Chubb was stopped late Tuesday morning for a “minor traffic infraction” and was detained after the warrant was discovered. Chubb was detained until Tuesday afternoon when he posted “a small bond.”
Chubb has previously been ticketed for speeding 10-19 mph over the limit in 2019 and 2020.
Chubb was detained just five days away from the regular season-opening game Sunday against the New York Giants in New Jersey.
This offseason, Chubb, underwent from ankle surgery in mid-May and returned to play the final two preseason games. He missed last week’s practices after injuring his non-surgically repaired ankle but returned to practice Monday.
