Devonta Smith is already balling in the NFC Championship Game.

Check out the phenomenal catch the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver made on his team’s opening drive against the San Francisco 49ers, bailing his team out with a one-handed snag on 4th Down.

Afterwards, replay showed that the ball moved on the ground and the catch likely would’ve been overturned, but Kyle Shanahan kept the red flag in his pocket at the time. Alas, the catch goes down in the record books. Hey, it looked awesome, at least.

Following the catch, the Eagles scored on a Miles Sanders touchdown run, giving them a 7-0 lead the start the game. A fantastic start for Philadelphia.

Alabama sends Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts shoutout after MVP recognition

Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts received a shoutout from Alabama after the Eagles quarterback was named a finalist for NFL MVP.

Hurts began his college football career at Alabama before he transferred to Oklahoma for his final season. He was a second round pick by Philadelphia in the 2020 season after his Heisman finalist year.

However, Alabama sent a clear message about Hurts when the football team congratulated him for the accolade.

“MVP Finalist,” the tweet read. “Congrats Jalen Hurts. #BuiltByBama.”

Hurts had his highlights at Alabama, including a national championship game as a freshman. While that was a loss to Clemson, Hurts led them back the next season.

However, Hurts was pulled at halftime for Tua Tagovailoa in what was a win over Georgia. Still, Hurts remained at Alabama for another season and came in for an injured Tagovailoa in the SEC Championship Game.

The MVP finalist led Alabama to a win and back to the College Football Playoff. Hurts transferred in the offseason and exploded on the stat sheet under former Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley.
