WATCH: Donte Jackson snatches pick-six to give Panthers a 10-7 lead over the Rams
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Carolina Panthers’ defense has been doing their best job to keep him struggling. On Sunday, Carolina cornerback Donte Jackson snatched a pass from Stafford at the 30-yard line eluded a couple of Rams players and took it all the way back to paydirt. The interception helped to put the Panthers in the lead at 10-7 with just under two minutes remaining in the first half.
Check it out below.
The interception was the first of the season for Donte Jackson and the 13th of his NFL career thus far. He’s been a pretty solid cornerback over the past few years for the Panthers since he entered the league in 2018. A former track star, Jackson was crowned the SEC champion in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 2017. He served of the leadoff leg of the team–which finished with a 38.71 time in the event. In college, his personal best in the 60-meter dash was 6.63 and his personal best in the 100-meter dash was 10.22. Jackson was named the fastest player in college football during the 2017 season.

As far as the pick-six today, it looked like the ball got deflected once Stafford tried to hit his favorite receiver the past year and a half, Cooper Kupp. Either way, it’s officially time to start worrying if you’re a Los Angeles Rams fan. The shine from last season’s Super Bowl run has completely worn off and the Rams’ offensive line has looked absolutely atrocious for much of the year, which has been of their biggest problems.
Not only that, for whatever the reason has been, the Rams have not been able to get former Chicago Bears’ wideout Allen Robinson consistently involved in their offense. Their offense has looked consistently one dimensional and rarely is that going to last in any season in the National Football League. Stafford has been locked onto Cooper Kupp and funneling targets his way for much of the 2022 campaign, which makes sense because he’s one of the best players in the league. What doesn’t make sense is trading for Allen Robinson in the offseason, giving him a three-year, 46.5 million deal and not figuring out how to get him heavily involved in the offense. It’s quite puzzling and the Rams have plenty of questions to get figured out moving forward, no matter what happens on Sunday.
