ESPN's Todd McShay unveils new mock draft following Super Bowl 57

ESPN’s Todd McShay has unveiled a new 2023 NFL Mock Draft.

Check out his first ten picks below, including a huge trade that involves the first overall pick of the draft.

1. Indianapolis Colts (via mock trade with Chicago Bears): Bryce Young, QB, Alabama
2. Houston Texans — CJ Stroud, QB, Ohio State
3. Arizona Cardinas — Will Anderson Jr., EDGE, Alabama
4. Chicago Bears (via mock trade with Indianapolis Colts) — Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia
5. Seattle Seahawks (via DEN) — Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech
6. Detroit Lions (via LAR) — Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson
7. Las Vegas Raiders — Will Levis, QB, Kentucky
8. Atlanta Falcons — Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern
9. Carolina Panthers — Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida

As you can see, McShay has confidence in the Indianapolis Colts trading up for former Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. While many have debated which quarterback will be the first off the board, McShay believes it’ll be the former Alabama star.

Meanwhile, he also has four quarterbacks going in the top ten, with CJ Stroud, Will Levis and Anthony Richardson joining Young. Teams need quarterbacks, and this is as good a draft as any to get one.

Additionally, McShay has Will Anderson going over Jalen Carter as the first defensive player, which is sure to change multiple times over the next couple of months. That’s another fascinating battle to keep an eye on.

Regardless, it’s evident there’s a bevy of interesting talent in the 2023 NFL Draft, and Todd McShay and others will be projecting it over the next couple of months. The ride to April is going to be a good time.

More on the 2023 NFL Draft

The 2023 NFL Draft is set to take place from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event will be held at the plaza just outside of Union Station.

Round 1 of the NFL Draft is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Apr. 27. Rounds 2-3 will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Apr. 28, and Rounds 4-7 will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Apr. 29. The draft will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on both ESPN and NFL Network.

To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility. 100 underclassmen were approved for last year’s draft. 73 of those 100 underclassmen were granted special eligibility while 27 of them were underclassmen who had completed their college degrees.

The 2023 NFL scouting combine will take place from Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis.
