Twin brothers Mandrell and Darryll Desir commit to Florida State
Amidst a down year on the field, Florida State added two key targets to its recruiting class on Sunday morning.
Twin brothers and Miami (Fla.) Norland standouts Darryll Desir and Mandrell Desir announced their commitments after backing off previous pledges to UCF on Saturday night.
“Have a great relationship with the staff,” Darryll Desir told Warchant in March when he was offered. “Talk to them often. They show me love. … Really loved the environment.”
The duo are much-needed additions for the Seminoles after a slew of decommitments in recent weeks.
Darryll, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound EDGE, is the No. 589 overall prospect and No. 55 player at his position in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3, however, is slightly higher on him than other services. In the most recent On3 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 46 EDGE and No. 45 recruit in the Sunshine State.
Mandrell Desir, who stands at 6’3 and 210 pounds, is the No. 777 overall prospect and No. 67 in the class.
The twins are Florida State’s 12th and 13th commitments in the cycle, joining a group headlined by five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn, four-star running back Byron Louis and four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph.
