Former Chicago Bears star has violent reaction to Aaron Rodgers taunt
Former Chicago Bear center Olin Kreutz did not mince words when speaking about Aaron Rodgers troll of Chicago on Sunday. In an interview with The Score 670, the former Bear-turned-analyst summed up his feelings towards Rogers with this quote:
“I’d like to punch him in the face.”
Former All-Pro didn’t stop there and elaborated on his feelings towards the Packers quarterback over the gesture, what he said, and his postgame remarks.
“When you see that that is your first reaction. I don’t care if it’s right and I don’t care what his excuse is, that’s just your first reaction. To me that’s a lame excuse at the podium, I seen some lady flick me off and I blacked out. Look we all know this is the kind of guy you are. You’re competitive and that’s the way you feel. You have won a lot of games here at Soldier Field,” said Kreutz. “Just because you’re right it does not make you right for doing it. It doesn’t make us any less pissed off here. And like Justin Fields said on the podium after the game there should be a little edge after this. After a while you get sick of getting beat up and it’s been a long time here.”
Why Kreutz was so mad
The play Kreutz took exception to happened late in the fourth quarter with the Packers leading 17-14. On first and goal Rodgers scrambled to the right after he was unable to find a target downfield. As he headed for the pylon he was hammered by safety Eddie Jackson but not before scoring six. After celebrating with his teammates, Rodgers turned to the fans at Soldier field and bellowed “I still own you!”

The score put Green Bay up 24-14 with less than five minutes to play. They hung on to win and the quarterback improved to 21-5 against the Bears in his career including 10-3 on the road. Packers fans will certainly appreciate the response from Aaron Rodgers to the Chicago crowd, as the Bears are one of their biggest rivals. Rodgers finished the day 17-of-23 for 195 yards passing and three total touchdowns. Green Bay now sits alone atop the NFC North standings with the 3-3 Bears in second.
The former Bears career
Kreutz played almost his entire career with the Chicago Bears — his last year was with the New Orleans Saints. He was the team’s third-round pick in 1998 out of the University of Washington. He spent 13 years in Chicago and played 191 games starting in 183 of them. During his time there he was named to six pro bowls, had a first-team and a second-team All-Pro selection and was named to the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade team.
Rodger might have just re-lit the smoldering flame of this rivalry. Or maybe it was just a friendly reminder of what he’s been to the Bears. Either way, current player and former player definitely seen what the quarterback of their rival had to say, and Olin Kreutz was not a fan.
