Former Florida Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson makes decision on Scouting Combine
With the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine beginning on Tuesday in Indianapolis, the top draft prospects are making the key decision whether or not to participate in all, some or none of the events.
While the top two quarterbacks in the draft, C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young, have split decisions on their combine participation, former Florida Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson will go all-out, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.
“Florida QB Anthony Richardson plans to throw and do all testing and drills, per source,” Pelissero shared. “A showcase for the physically gifted Richardson, who has a chance to rise through the pre-draft process.”
FanDuel’s updated odds for the top pick in this year’s draft show Richardson now has the fourth-best odds to go atop the draft board at +750. He trails Young, Stroud and Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter.
Richardson threw for 2,549 yards and 17 touchdowns in the air while also rushing for 654 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground this season for the Gators. It was a disappointing season for Florida, which included losses to Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Florida State, but the QB from Gainesville still shined.

The 2023 NFL Draft takes place from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event location this year is the plaza just outside of Union Station.
Round 1 of the NFL Draft begins at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Apr. 27. Rounds 2-3 will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Apr. 28, and Rounds 4-7 will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Apr. 29. The draft broadcast runs throughout the weekend on both ESPN and NFL Network.

One hundred underclassmen gained approval for last year’s draft. Seventy-three of those 100 underclassmen received special eligibility while 27 of them were underclassmen who had completed their college degrees.
The 2023 NFL scouting combine will take place from Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis.
