Former Northwestern guard Hailey Weaver commits to Nebraska

Nebraska Women’s Basketball has locked down its second transfer portal commitment for the day and of 2025. Former Northwestern guard Hailey Weaver announced her commitment to the Huskers three hours after Kansas State forward Eliza Maupin‘s commitment on Monday, April 14.
Weaver has one season of eligibility left after playing three at Northwestern. She left the team to focus on graduating and sat out the 2024-25 season. The graduate student will play her final season at Nebraska.
The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game during the 2023-24 season. She added 1.4 assists per game. Weaver shot 37.9% from field goal range and 36% from behind the arc. She was great from the free-throw line, shooting 83.8% as a junior.
Weaver reportedly visited the Huskers in Lincoln, Neb., on April 12.
She is already familiar with playing in Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. Northwestern faced the Huskers four times over her three seasons; three of those games were at PBA.

Adding another experienced guard
Nebraska is adding another experienced guard to its group. The Huskers return freshman phenomenon Britt Prince and three other experienced guards.
Allison Weidner, a soon-to-be senior, is working back from her third ACL season-ending injury. Her availability for the 2025-26 season is unknown. She suffered the injury on Jan. 12 and will have nine months to recover before the 2025-26 season.

Callin Hake, a 2025-26 senior, and Logan Nissley, a junior, played significant minutes for the Huskers. Hake started 30 of Nebraska’s 33 games, and Nissley logged 26 starts. Hake averaged 6.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Nissley added 7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Both shot over .300 from the field and three.
More depth and experience at guard will help the Huskers as they replace seniors Alberte Rimdal and Kendall Moriarty. Redshirt freshman guard Kennadi Williams will also be in the mix.
The 2025 portal class so far
Weaver joins former Kansas State transfer Eliza Maupin as additions to Nebraska’s 2025-26 roster.
Maupin, a 6-foot-3 forward, also has one season of eligibility after playing three seasons with the Wildcats.
She averaged 3.9 points per game and 2.8 rebounds in 2024-25 during her junior season. She shot 63.4% from the field and 69.2% from the free-throw line. Maupin recorded a career-season-high 29 assists and a career-high 17 blocked shots.
The former Wildcat played in 98 games over three seasons with three starts.
The Huskers have added two players with lots of experience from the portal.
