Report: Four NFL teams expected to make run at Davante Adams if he becomes a free agent
One of the best wide receivers in the NFL may have the opportunity to test free agency this offseason in Davante Adams. If he does, there may not be a hotter name on the market than him, with the Green Bay Packers and a few outside teams vying for his signature.
According to a report from Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, if Adams does enter free agency, there will be four teams, all from the AFC, that would make a serious run at the wide receiver. In fact, three come from the same division in the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. The other would be the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Beginning with Denver, they could be looking to grab more than just head coach Nathaniel Hackett out of Green Bay. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers could be a possibility as well, keeping the trio intact just moved a bit south and into the AFC West. Already having weapons at wide receiver such as Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy plus tight end Noah Fant and the Broncos would instantly have one of the best offenses in the league.
Adams could join an already talented offense in Los Angeles as well, headlined by young quarterback Justin Herbert and wide receiver Keenan Allen. The Chargers finished second in the NFL this past season in passing yards, hitting exactly 4,800 yards. Adding a weapon such as Adams could put them over the top and compete in what is already a competitive AFC West.

Looking over to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Adams would be stepping into a rebuilding process backed with quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Doug Pederson was recently hired as the head coach and has a Super Bowl ring on his resume with the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2018. It would be a work in progress but adding a player such as Adams could instantly boost the rebuild.
Finally, the Las Vegas Raiders would be looking for another piece of the puzzle to the offense. Two elite targets are already there for quarterback Derek Carr with wide receiver Hunter Renfrow and tight end Darren Waller. Trying to keep up with the Kansas City Chiefs and even the Chargers can be tough. Adams would boost new head coach Josh McDaniel’s offense instantly.
Of course, Adams could stay in Green Bay as well. Being one of the best players in the NFL, regardless of position, he will be a converted man throughout the league.
