Garrett Wilson discusses Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets rumors
Garrett Wilson broke out as a rookie with the New York Jets. But the team could do more with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.
As far as the two players teaming up in New York in 2023, that remains to be seen. Wilson was all-for Rodgers joining the Jets. However, Rodgers has yet to make a decision on his football future.
But if he decides to play elsewhere or have the ability to come to the Jets, Wilson sounded thrilled at the idea.
“I’ve seen that, I’ve seen the tweets,” Wilson said of the rumors to Chris Russo on Mad Dog Radio. “I’m not gonna lie, I’ve seen them. And, you know, if we get him that would be awesome. That’s someone that I’ve watched as a young kid, one of the best talents of all the time at that position. I feel like if we get him, we’re there. It’s just time to go prove it now.
“So we’ll see how it plays out. I’m confident that the front office will make the right move no matter who they get. And you know, we got some good dudes in the facility as well that can play that we’re still confident in and will stand by. I’m confident in the organization.”

Despite Wilson catching passes from Zach Wilson and Mike White all season long, he finished with 83 catches, 1,103 yards, four touchdowns and 13.3 yards per catch.
The former Ohio State star was a bright spot on a late season collapse for the Jets. Would Wilson, Rodgers and the Jets be a contender in the AFC? That would be an intriguing question.
But there’s no question there’s offensive talent in New York.
That includes former Iowa State running back Breece Hall. Hall tore his ACL earlier in the season but was well on his way to Rookie of the Year honors.
“He’s gonna come back and be even better, I’m confident in that,” Wilson said. “But yeah, I mean the start he had this season was special. And you know, if he ends up finishing the season, I ain’t going on Thursday to the NFL honors. That’s the truth. He would have been a runaway for (Rookie of the Year).”
Could Wilson and Hall being enticing enough to lure Rodgers to the Jets? It’s possible.
But before Rodgers can potentially pick the Jets and Wilson, he’ll be in darkness four days in isolation, for whatever reason.
