Pittsburgh Steelers rookie receiver George Pickens added another highlight to his reel with an incredible touchdown catch over the Dolphins. The former Georgia star has established himself in both practice and game days as one of the most athletic big-time pass catchers in the league — and showed it again in the red zone against Miami.

Late in the second quarter, the Steelers were in the red zone trailing the Dolphins 13-3 when they called on Pickens to win a one-on-one. Kenny Pickett found Pickens with a fade route into the end zone which Pickens managed to snag over the defender and tap both toes in bounds with.

The snag was the first touchdown of his NFL career, and one to remember.

During the broadcast, the commentators recounted a story told to them by Pickett about what it was like to play with Pickens. According to Pickett, those kind of catches are just standard daily things for Pickens in Steelers practices. Pickett said he’s seen him catch passes in practice that stay in his mind for the rest of the day.

The play was not the first NFL highlight of Pickens’ young career however, as he recently showed out against the Cleveland Browns in Week 3. Pickens grabbed a one-handed catch with defenders covering him tightly down the sideline, drawing plenty of attention his way for his acrobatics.

Pickens’ fellow wideout Diontae Johnson praised the rookie wideout after that game in similar fashion to Pickett.

“He’s a freak, that’s what he is,” Johnson said. “He’s a freak. That’s a special talent. You can’t teach some of the things he does. I just be watching like, man, I be amazed at how he catches the ball sometimes. He’s young. He’s getting better on the daily.”
