Georgia has been No. 1 on the field for weeks. Now the Bulldogs are No. 1 on the recruiting trail as well.

Following the commitment of Jacksonville Riverside five-star safety Jaheim Singletary, Georgia leaped over Alabama for the top spot in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

The On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking is the most advanced, complete and unbiased rating and ranking measurement in the industry. It is the only recruiting ranking that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies and equally weights the four companies.

The Bulldogs recruiting has a score of 94.483, which edges the Crimson Tide’s score of 94.238.

Georgia’s rise to No. 1 is the second major change in the top five of the recruiting rankings this month.

Texas A&M moved six spots from No. 9 to No. 3 in the ranking following the same-day commitments of Powell (Tenn.) High five-star defensive lineman Walter Nolen and Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend four-star wide receiver Chris Marshall.

Jaheim Singletary is an elite pickup for Georgia

Jaheim Singletary is the No. 19 overall recruit in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the third five-star recruit in the class following Jefferson (Ga.) athlete Malaki Starks and Columbus (Ga.) Hardaway defensive lineman Mykel Williams.

Those three players form a great core of a top-to-bottom outstanding recruiting class for the Bulldogs.

Georgia now has 10 of the top 101 players in the On3 Consensus.

The defensive backfield is becoming the backbone of the Bulldogs recruiting class. Singletary is the third elite cornerback in the class with Houston Clear Lake four-star Julian Humphrey and Snellville (Ga.) North Cobb four-star Marquis Groves-Killebrew. Starks and four-star athlete JaCorey Thomas will also likely play in the secondary for Georgia.
