Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers sends heartfelt but cryptic message
Could a decision from Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers be on the way? Based on his recent Instagram post, there’s reason to believe that’s the case.
All eyes are on Rodgers’ decision for next season — if he’ll stay in Green Bay, play for another team or retire from football. He penned a lengthy post late Monday night expressing gratitude along with 10 photos, and while the message was one of thanks, it almost seemed like there was another meaning behind it.
The first included an interesting passage: “Gratitude is the wine for the soul. Go on. Get drunk.”
The post comes as people question what’s next for Rodgers, who just won his fourth MVP award. It’s a big offseason ahead for the Packers, who lost in the NFC Divisional Round to the San Francisco 49ers this past season.

“Here’s some… #MondayNightGratitude for some of the incredibly special people in my life, with some pictures from the last beautiful year,” Rodgers wrote. “@shailenewoodley, thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life. Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like, I love you and am grateful for you.
“To the men I got to share the QB room with everyday, Matt, Nathaniel, Luke, @jordan3love and @kurtbenkert , you guys made every day so much fun and I’m so thankful for the daily laughs and stress relief you brought me every week of the year. I love you guys. To the Friday Crew, @aiydacobb, @rcobb18, @frankieshebby, and @davidbakhtiari, I loved every moment we got to spend together this year. Your love and support was overwhelming, and I cherish the friendships I have with each of you.

The post generated plenty of discussion in the early hours Tuesday, and it also came ahead of a planned Rodgers appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler also provided an update on “Get Up” with Mike Greenberg on Tuesday morning.
“I was told the Packers are planning for both scenarios right now,” Fowler said. They remain confident that Rodgers will come back to them because they think that they give him the best chance to win, but they’re preparing for life with him and life without him because they truly don’t know.”
