Packers activate wide receiver off COVID-19 list
The Green Bay Packers are getting a boost to their receiving corps ahead of their Week 17 matchup with the Vikings.
Firstly, the Packers activated wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the COVID-19/Reserve list this week. The 2018 fifth-round draft pick out of USF did not play last week and he missed several weeks at the beginning of the year.
On the season, Valdes-Scantling has caught 25 of his 51 targets in nine games for 427 yards and three touchdowns. In his last appearance versus the Ravens, Valdes-Scantling caught five passes for 98 yards and a score.
Green Bay also signed wide receiver David Moore to the practice squad on Thursday.
Moore played in two games this season for the Denver Broncos but posted no stats. In three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, the East Carolina grad had 78 receptions for 1,163 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Debating College Football Playoff selections
“I’m just enjoying this season for this season, and playing next year will definitely be in the thought process,” Rodgers said, via Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Rodgers added he wants to “not be a bum” as his career comes to a close, and he clearly is not near that territory given he’s the frontrunner for the MVP award. It would be his fourth time earning the honor (2011, 2014 and 2020). The 38-year-old has completed 68% of his passes for 3,689 yards, 33 touchdowns, and just four interceptions.
In contract renegotiations this summer, Rodgers’ deal was reworked so that the original 2023 year on the contract is voided. Put simply, 2022 would be the last year of the current agreement.
The Packers have clinched the NFC North, and they are currently the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a 12-3 record. The Packers host the Minnesota Vikings this weekend for Sunday Night Football, and they close out the regular season in Detroit with the Lions.
