Devonte Wyatt addresses playing in the cold weather
Now that former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt is a part of the Green Bay Packers, there are plenty of questions on how his game will transfer to the next level. But one question he was asked, in his introductory interview, wasn’t about how he would play, but where he’s going to play.
Green Bay is notorious for harsh winters and winter storms. And one reporter was curious whether the Georgia native and former Bulldog has any significant experience with cold weather.
“Yeah, I actually played in the cold a lot. You gotta think about it, I played at Hutch (Hutchinson Community College),” said Wyatt. “It was in Kansas and it was really cold out there. So, I’m definitely used to the cold. I definitely got experienced with it, so I don’t think that’s important or a factor.”

“It was amazing,” said Wyatt. “When I came down there, it was amazing because when I got to meet the coaches and some of the guys on the staff, everybody was friendly. Everybody had positive energy and it just being out there I just felt comfortable. It felt like being at home as well. When you walk you can tell, just look at other people and they are happy to be there… it just tells you what type of organization it is.”
In 2018 at Georgia, Wyatt totaled 19 tackles with 1.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss. He then had 30 tackles with one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss in 2019.
