Before the Green Bay Packers drop their list of inactives for Sunday versus the Rams, insider Adam Schefter dropped new info on running back Aaron Jones.

The former UTEP star wants to play but the Green Bay Packers are considering resting him. With a bye week coming up, Jones could benefit from the extra break. However, the Pack will wait until game time to make the final call.

Jones missed Sunday’s game against the Vikings, dealing with a knee injury from the week before. He was back in a limited capacity on Thanksgiving, which is an encouraging sign heading into Sunday’s game.

Head coach Matt LaFleur gave an update on Jones earlier in the week. LaFleur said Green Bay will wait to see before deciding if the running back will play against Los Angeles.

“He did a nice job out at practice, and we’ll see how he progresses through the week and see where he’s at on Sunday,” LaFleur said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.

Jones’ official injury is a sprained MCL. He has rushed for 541 yards and three touchdowns this season, leading the Packers in both.

The kickoff between Green Bay and the Los Angeles Rams is at 4:25 p.m. ET. The Packers lead the NFC North with their 8-3 record.

Packers make final roster move

The Green Bay Packers have announced one last roster move ahead of Sunday’s critical game against the Los Angeles Rams. The Packers elevated linebacker La’Darius Hamilton to the active roster for Sunday as a COVID-19 replacement. This is the second time in as many weeks that the second-year linebacker has been called up by the Packers.

Hamilton is an undrafted free agent from the 2020 NFL Draft out of North Texas. He spent the 2020 season as a member of the Dallas Cowboys practice squad.

This year he’s split time between Tampa Bay and Green Bay’s practice squads. Aside from last week, he was activated one other time before by the Packers for their Week-5 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals but did not appear in the stat column.
