LOOK: Green Bay Packers unveil throwback uniforms
The Green Bay Packers are bringing it back to 1950. The team unveiled throwback uniforms for the 2021 season via their team’s Twitter account.
The Packers will debut the uniforms at Lambeau Field, wearing them Week 7 against the Washington Football Team.
Aaron Jones, Jaire Alexander, David Bhaktiari and Kenny Clark are among the Packers showing off their new threads in the video. A notable emission is Aaron Rodgers, the man who will be the best player to wear the uniform.
In addition, Randall Cobb is featured. The wide receiver was famously brought over in a trade following a request from Rodgers.
Latest on Aaron Rodgers’ relationship with the Green Bay Packers
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the dominating story of the NFL off-season was Rodgers’ relationship with the Green Bay Packers. Specifically, the well-documented riff between the quarterback and general manager Brian Gutekunst.
Earlier this summer, Rodgers spoke on his relationship with the Packers general manager.
“I think it’s a work in progress,” Rodgers said, per Around the NFL writer Nick Shook. “I think relationships aren’t formed in the matter of a couple days. There’s time where the respect grows and the communication follows. I think the greatest relationships that you have with your friends and loved ones involve conversations and flow. You can not talk to a close friend for a few months and pick up right where you left off.”

While their relationship may be frayed, Gutekust recognized how vital Rodgers is to his team’s success. After agreeing to a reworked contract and stipulations to bring the quarterback back to Green Bay, he also traded for wide receiver Randall Cobb, a move spearheaded by Rodgers.
When asked about the trade, Gutekust credited Rodgers going to bat for Cobb as the main reason why it was made.
“I think that was a big part of it,” Gutekunst said. “Without Aaron, I don’t know if we would be pursuing that. He’s still a really good player.”
At least Aaron Rodgers will wear the Green Bay Packers throwbacks Week 7, as it may be the only opportunity he gets to do so.
