Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs carted to locker room, questionable to return

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has been carted to the locker room with an ankle injury. The team has declared that Doubs is questionable to return in the game.

The injury to Doubs occurred early in the first quarter of the Packers’ game against the Detroit Lions. After Green Bay forced a turnover on downs on the first drive of the game, Doubs suffered an injury during the first offensive drive. He was seen on the sideline being helped to a cart by team medical professionals.

Doubs was running a route on the drive and then caught a pass over the middle. He was quickly hit by two Lions players, resulting in the injury. You can see the play below.

Doubs was a fourth-round pick out of Nevada in the 2022 NFL Draft. Doubs entered the game as Green Bay’s second-leading receiver with 296 yards and three touchdowns through eight games played. Doubs entered this game fresh off of a 62-yard, one-touchdown outing in a loss to the Buffalo Bills. Doubs had recently received the praise of his coaches for what he brought to the offense.

“We knew obviously when Sammy (Watkins) went down that (Doubs) was going to have a bigger part in the game plan. It’s just a matter of how the game flowed,” Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said in September. “He has his opportunities, he made some big plays which we know he’s capable of, and we’re very excited about him moving forward. He has great hands and he can do some good things once he catches the ball. Yeah, it was really encouraging to see that and hopefully there’s a lot more of that to come.”
