Green Bay wide receiver Davante Adams joins elite class of NFL receivers
Green Bay’s all-world wideout, Davante Adams joined some rarified air on Sunday night. The Packers’ legend became the sixth player in NFL history with 600+ receptions, 8,000+ yards, and 70+ touchdowns in his first eight seasons. In checking off all those stat boxes, Adams joined a class of receivers that are all currently or will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Marvin Harrison.
Adams has been one of the top receivers in the National Football League, if not the top, for the past few seasons. He and Aaron Rodgers have teamed up to form a nearly unstoppable combination. Their chemistry is unbelievable.
In the first half on Sunday Night Football against the Vikings, Adams dominated, pulling in eight catches for 118 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Simply put, few receivers in the history of football have been blessed with the combination of route running and hands that Adams has displayed during his career. He’s a near lock to end up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day. Not only that, he’s achieved greatness in a remarkably humble manner.
While he didn’t dominate the NFL the first few years he was in it, Adams improved dramatically from his early days in the league. Once it comes time to hang his cleats up, the former Fresno State star will be enshrined among the greatest to ever play the game. His combination of route running and hands are truly a work of art on the football field.

The Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams connection has been unstoppable for several years
With his future Hall-of-Fame quarterback throwing him the football, Adams has been unguardable the past few seasons.
For example, check out the game-winner Rodgers threw to Adams against Dallas in 2017. Keep in mind, the previous play, Rodgers tried to throw the same pass play/route to Adams and it didn’t work. The team was so confident it would work again, they ran the exact same play again.
You can’t blame them.
Simply put, there’s no defense in the world that could have stopped that pass. The two have been an incredible tandem and one of the best in league history. Now that Rodgers faces an uncertain future in the off-season, Adams likely does, too. He’s even noted in recent interviews that he is “monitoring” Rodgers’ situation. Why wouldn’t he?
Playoff implications for tonight
The Packers currently lead the Vikings 30-10 at the end of the third quarter. If the Packers can finish the job and win tonight, they’ll clinch the top overall seed for the NFC in the playoffs.
