Hoophall Classic: Saturday’s top performers
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – The Saturday games of the Hoophall Classic sold out. It was standing room only inside Blake Arena at Springfield College with the majority of people there to watch Bryce James, son of NBA’s all-time leading bc scorer LeBron James.
James’ performance did not disappoint – read more about it below – as the 6-foot-4 finished his Hoophall performance with 16 points, earning game MVP honors. The exciting part of the performance is that with every bucket, every steal that James had, the crowd stood to its feet and went crazy. The environment was a fun one.
But James was not the only player playing on Saturday at the Hoophall Classic. On3’s Jamie Shaw was joined by NBA personnel and college coaches sitting courtside and he discusses the day’s standouts and top performers.
On3 MVP: 4-Star PG Cayden Boozer (Duke)
Cayden Boozer is a point guard and in this game, he simplified everything for his team and did everything you want a point guard to do. Listed at 6-foot-5, Boozer played at a great pace, decelerating in traffic as well as accelerating in the open floor. The Duke signee showed quick processing along with passing touch, getting teammates clear looks across the floor.
Boozer finished very well in this one. Showcasing an array of funny-foot finishes, floaters, and pull up jumpers. He is a strong bodied guard and elevated the level of play of everyone around him in this one. Boozer finished with 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists. He was 9-12 from the field.
Five-Star Plus+ PF Caleb Wilson
Man, the upside with Caleb Wilson is just so high. Which is interesting to see because he is already so productive as a player. The part with Wilson that pops immediately is his defense. Wilson has great length and he slides well with perimeter based forwards. He can also slide down showcasing excellent timing as a shot blocker.
Offensively, his game is interesting. He has some perimeter skills off the bounce, and he showed capable of gaining an advantage. In this one, he immediately had three defenders on him and the space was tight in the paint, which led to a couple turnovers trying to make a play. Wilson showed some good passing abilities and he finished high above the rim a few times. He finished with 21 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals today. He shot 8-21 from the field and 1-2 from three.
4-Star SG Jordan Smith (2026)
There is something about Jordan Smith where he simply finds production. The 6-foot-3 guard is playing a lot on the ball, and he seems to consistent put his team in a position to make a play. Smith is an athletic guard, he has twitch along with explosive pop. With that he is a high upside defensive play, guarding on and off the ball. This season, he has made a concerted effort on ball, and notably with his pace.
Smith’s Fairfax (VA) Paul VI coach does a good job of lining Smith up in different spots to gain advantage. He finished around the basket, moved the ball well, and made his free throws. In the win, Smith finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. He was 7-14 from the field, 1-2 from three, and 5-6 from the line.
Five-Star Plus+ PF Cam Boozer (Duke)
There is a model of consistency that Cam Boozer brings to the table that we have come to expect. The 6-foot-8 power forward collects rebounds each time he steps on the floor. He has strong hands and an innate understanding for positioning and angles. Boozer did not shoot the ball very well today, but he was still able to find his production.
I liked that he went down low, close to the basket, to see a few go through and get back into a rhythm. He has soft touch around the basket and good footwork. His knowledge of angles and use of his base to create an advantage are very impressive. Boozer finished with 25 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals in today’s win. He was 10-20 from the field and 1-6 from three.
4-Star SG Tounde Yessoufou (Baylor)
The thing with Tounde Yessoufou is that he consistently puts his team in the position to make a positive play. He is an explosive athlete with good length, but it’s the nose for the ball that stands out the most when watching him play. The 6-foot-5 wing is a load to handle when he gets downhill. Not only does he have the pop, but he has excellent balance able to shift weight getting downhill. Yessoufou also plays with a competitive tenacity that is hard to ignore. You like the leadership he shows vocally, and you see that he leaves a lot on the floor. Yessoufou has great instincts, high-level physical traits, and a hot motor.
The 6-foot-5 wing finished his Hoophall game with a game-high 23 points adding 8 rebounds and 5 steals in the win.
Five-Star Plus+ SG Isiah Harwell (Houston)
There is a steady nature that Isiah Harwell brings to each game he plays in. The strong-framed off guard, listed at 6-foot-6 is still coming back from an injury that kept him out for most of the summer. While he is still performing at a high level, you can tell that the knee he is still working back to 100 percent. Playing on back-to-back nights, Saturday’s performance was a good one. He scored the ball well, getting downhill to the basket along with knocking down threes.
Harwell also took pride in his defense. Picking up the main ball handler full court and turning him multiple times each possession. There is a rugged nature Harwell consistently brings to the court for Mount Pleasant (UT) Wasatch Academy. In this one, Harwell finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. The five-star was 8-10 from the field and 2-3 from three. He impacted across all levels of the game.

4-Star SF Christian Collins (2026)
Just watching one quarter of basketball and you can immediately see the upside that Christian Collins has. Listed at 6-foot-8, the wing has a fluid athleticism with great length. What stood out in this game was his ability in the boards. Collins consistently cleaned up possessions on the defensive end, and his ball skills allowed him to push the break to an advantage for his team.
Collins has a lot of the tools, one thing I would like to see him do is to be more confident in asserting himself. At times, Collins would blend in and go a couple possessions without getting a shot up. Even with that, Collins bumped up to No. 2 overall in the last 2026 ranking update. And while he has to tighten pieces of his game, he has a lot of upside to grow into. Collins finished this game with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He was 4-14 from the field.
3-Star SG Bryce James (Arizona)
Bryce James, the son of LeBron James, went into halftime with three points. He went for 13 points after halftime to help lead Chatsworth (CA) Sierra Canyon to a 14 point win. James shot the ball at a high level at Hoophall, knocking down threes off the catch and off movement. He also had an alley-oop dunk that brought the crowd to its feet.
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard finished with 16 points and 4 steals going 4-7 from three in tonight’s win.
Other Hoophall Classic Saturday Top Performers
Five-Star Plus+ SF Tyran Stokes (2026) – It was not his best showing today. But even with the turnovers piled up and shots not falling, Stokes showcased some impressive processing and a few pin-point passes. He is very strong, and On3’s No. 1 ranked player in 2026 is also explosive. He finished 9 points on 4-12 shooting while adding 6 assists.
3-Star PG Amir Jenkins (2026) – This was the first live viewing I was able to lock in on Jenkins, and he was impressive. Very slippery with the ball, he consistently got to his spots and was able to get to open spots in the half court to finish. The Worcester (MA) Academy guard has an offer from programs like Providence, St. Louis, St. Bonaventure, and others. It will be interesting to see how that grows.
4-Star PG Deron Rippey (2026) – The speed stands out immediately. Rippey is a blur with the ball in his hands, attacking open spots on the floor in the half and full court. There were times he struggled to finish in the paint, once the defense collapsed, but he played with a good pace and knocked down a few threes. He is one of the top point guards nationally in the 2026 class, and he looked like it today.
3-Star PG Julius Price (2026) – Had a solid day for Santa Monica (CA) St. Joseph’s. The 6-foot-3 guard toggled well going on and off the ball throughout the game. He was streaky with his shooting, mixing a couple airballs in with some impressive makes. But he got the ball to the right spots and he has a physical frame. He finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists while finishing 3-7 from three in the game.
4-Star SF Jalen Haralson (Notre Dame) – Individually, the stat line looks solid for Haralson, but watching the game, the 6-foot-7 forward did not have as much impact on the outcome as expected. Haralson played predominantly on the ball, and was bottled up for a lot of the game, not able to create much for himself or his team. Haralson is a connector, he moves the ball and can finish plays when put in the proper areas. In this one, he finished with a solid 12 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals while shooting 5-7 from the field in 27 minutes played.
3-Star SG Mariano Manciel (2026) – Hoophall has been a breakout weekend for the 6-foot-3 shooting guard. What he has really done to impress is shoot the ball. He is 11-14 from three through his two games at the Hoophall Classic. His 28 points on Friday and 21 on Saturday have also led his Mount Pleasant (UT) Wasatch Academy team to two EYBL Scholastic League wins this weekend. It will be fascinating to see if Manciel keeps up this pace, but he certainly took advantage of the Hoophall stage.
