Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence went down with an ankle injury last week, but the Jacksonville Jaguars have received a positive update on his status. When the Jaguars take on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Lawrence and his ankle will be on the field and ready to go, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport tweeted an update on Lawrence Friday morning, saying that he, left tackle Cam Robinson (back) and linebacker Myles Jack (knee) will all play against the Colts. Additionally, running back James Robinson has a heel injury and is questionable, though he has a good chance to play.

Lawrence suffered the ankle injury on Sunday after he dropped back and was stepped on by one of his offensive linemen. He fell to the ground and was helped off the field before heading straight to the locker room. Lawrence was originally listed as questionable to return, but that quickly changed when he returned to the field and re-entered the game shortly after.

Lawrence is feeling well enough to start for the Jaguars against the Colts

After last week’s game, Lawrence said that he was feeling better after the initial scare. That appears to have remained the case throughout the week.

“I’m feeling a little bit better,” Lawrence said after the game. “Scanned it. Nothing concerning there. See how it feels tomorrow and the rest of the week. I’m sure it’s going to be sore. We’ll see. Just get a bunch of treatment and try to get back healthy.”

Entering Sunday’s game between the Jaguars and Colts, Lawrence has had an up and down rookie season. Through eight games, he has completed 59.5 percent of his passes for 1,821 yards, eight touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He is averaging 244.6 yards per game with a 73.6 passer rating. Lawrence also has 32 rushes for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

The Jaguars ended up winning last week against the Bills 9-6. Jacksonville is now 2-6 on the season. The Jaguars currently sit in third place in the AFC South, trailing the Colts, who are 4-5 and in second place. The Tennessee Titans lead the division with a 7-2 record.

Sunday’s kickoff between the Jaguars and Colts is set for 1 p.m. ET in Indianapolis, and when that time comes, it appears as if Lawrence will be fully ready to go.
