College football’s early signing period is less than three months away, but plenty of talented players are still on the board, including seven uncommitted safeties in the 2022 On300 rankings.

In total, 74 of the top 300 players in the country—just under 25 percent—have yet to announce their college commitments, but most of those will do so between now and December 15, when the first signing period officially opens. Skipping the spring semester of high school and enrolling early has become the norm in college football in recent years, with programs like Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and others typically bringing in more than a dozen players after the semester break.

Four of the top five players in the 2022 class have yet to commit, including No. 1 overall player Marvin Jones Jr. On3 compiled notes and intel on all 74 uncommitted On300 prospects to keep you informed about where each player stands in their recruiting process.

Jacoby Mathews

Ranking: On300 No. 38
Schools considering: Texas A&M, LSU

Latest intel: All signs point to this being a two-team race between the Tigers and Aggies. Mathews tweeted earlier this week that he’s looking to lock in visits, and we’d expect these two at the top of the list.

Xavier Nwankpa

Background: Altoona (Iowa) Southeast Polk
Ranking: On300 No. 59
Schools considering: Iowa, Notre Dame, Ohio State

Latest intel: Nwankpa told On3’s Lettermen Row that he’s cemented a visit to Ohio State for October 30 when the Buckeyes host No. 6 Penn State. He’ll trip to Iowa on October 9, when the Hawkeyes will also host Penn State, and he’s locked in to see Notre Dame October 23.

Zion Branch

Background: Las Vegas Bishop Gorman
Ranking: On300 No. 88
Schools considering: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC

Latest intel: Branch took official visits to Ohio State, USC, Oregon, and Oklahoma this summer, and he currently has November visits locked in for Alabama and Clemson.

Azareyeh Thomas

Background: Niceville (Fla.) High
Ranking: On300 No. 135
Schools considering: Florida, Georgia Tech, LSU

Latest intel: Florida, Georgia Tech and LSU all hosted Thomas for official visits this summer, and he made his way back to Atlanta to see the Yellow Jackets a few weeks ago. Florida will be tough to beat, though.

Kamari Wilson

Ranking: On300 No. 138
Schools considering: Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M

Latest intel: Wilson, who plays for one of the country’s top prep programs at IMG Academy, has an official visit schedule to Georgia for October 1. He was at Florida for the Alabama game, but the Bulldogs look like the team to beat here.

Demari Henderson

Background: Sanford (Fla.) Seminole
Ranking: On300 No. 174
Schools considering: Miami, UCF

Latest intel: Henderson took an official visit to Miami over the summer and then took in UCF on Sept. 11. It looks like a two-team race for the in-state star.

Larry Turner-Gooden

Background: Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany
Ranking: On300 No. 292
Schools considering: Penn State, Colorado, LSU, Texas, USC

Latest intel: Turner-Gooden is a new addition to this list, decommitting from Arizona State. He visited Penn State last weekend, and the timing of him backing off his pledge says the Nittany Lions are a serious contender. Texas will get a shot to impress him in October.
